Sarah Clark is a 2024 graduate from the University of Kentucky where she earned a Master of Science degree in Entomology. Before that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky in 2013. She has been working in the agricultural and horticultural industries for over ten years, gaining experience from several different positions.

Currently, Sarah is a Research Assistant at the University of Kentucky, working closely with the Office of the State Entomologist. She creates educational materials and written resources for use in local extension and community farming and also aids in various field research studies at the university. Her expertise is in sustainable agriculture and small-scale farming; notably, investigating alternative biopesticides such as essential oils as well as the potential pesticidal properties of microbial inoculants. During her most recently published study, she evaluated the efficacy of exclusion netting and selected biopesticides for the control of Harlequin bug (Murgantia histrionica) on Brassica crops. As a part of that study, she also investigated the phytotoxic properties of three commercially produced essential oil products as well as their potential to cause mortality to common natural enemies. Moving forward, her research interests are small acreage farming and vegetable row crop production.
